For Fabrics, Window Treatments & Decorative Elements
FabricBack's fire protection finishes are meticulously crafted to preserve the beauty and integrity of fine textiles while helping them meet today's demanding commercial fire code requirements. From upholstery and drapery fabrics to wooden window treatments and decorative rope, our flame-retardant treatments allow designers to bring their creative vision to public and hospitality spaces with confidence.
Our flame-retardant solutions are developed to reduce flammability and delay combustion, offering essential protection without compromising a fabric's hand or aesthetic. Natural fibers—such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool—and synthetics like polyester and rayon can all be treated to meet the most widely recognized standards, including:
For draperies and window coverings
For upholstery fabrics
For wallcoverings
Every treatment is custom-formulated based on the fabric's composition, intended use, and the fire regulations governing the final installation—ensuring compliance that is both precise and reliable.
Specialized treatments for fabrics and decorative elements in commercial applications
FlameGard® is our signature water-based, non-toxic flame-retardant finish, designed for fabrics and decorative elements used in commercial interiors. Applied with exceptional care, FlameGard® enhances flame resistance while maintaining the textile's natural drape, texture, and visual elegance. It is the preferred solution for designers outfitting hotels, restaurants, performance venues, and other public spaces.
For projects requiring a heightened level of performance, FlameBlock® pairs our FlameGard® treatment with a sophisticated non-flammable barrier liner laminated to the back of the fabric. This creates a supple, stretchable composite engineered to help meet more stringent standards, including those associated with Cal-133. Despite its robust protection, the liner remains soft, easy to cut, and comfortable for upholsterers to work with—offering elevated safety without sacrificing craftsmanship.
Fire protection for every commercial environment and application
Every FlameGard® application includes a certificate of treatment, suitable for most commercial requirements.
For installations that must be independently verified, we also offer an optional certificate of flame retardancy, issued after laboratory testing of the treated fabric.
Designers needing a lab-certified flame certificate should notify us prior to placing an order to ensure proper testing.
